Genoa Systems 8500VL 1MB VESA Local Bus (VLB) video card
It’s based on the Cirrus Logic CL-GD5426. Was playing DOOM and Wolfenstein 3D with it. Also good for Microsoft Word 5.5 and a slew of other DOS programs. Good stuff. Works fine in Windows for Workgroups 3.11 and can do 1024x768 256 color. Currently running it 800x600 in 65K colors. Video displays everything fine. Smooth. Chips Challenge and SkiFree run with zero lag. Who needs a GTX1080?
The con? Installing those VLB cards SUCKS.
Verdict - Neat card for your DOS gaming needs. 9/10

Welcome to the 1990s.
We’ve got VLB graphics card reviews, Toyota sells an interesting RWD sports car, and Clinton is running for president.

Crystal Pepsi is awesome! And hey, they re-released Star Wars figures and movies....huh...why did Greedo shoot first?
Now if you’ll excuse me, I am gonna go enjoy Chuck-E-Cheese’s before they are destroyed by the future and as the last bastion of arcade games!
